Lubnik Hike - May 2025

Parking

We park around 09:30 in the morning at a free public road-side parking area close to Škofja Loka.

A steep start

We start going up on the steep narrow path next to the information board. It's a mix of dirt, tree roots, and exposed rock.

To the sawmill

The path gets less steep brings us to a fork where we can choose between the easy path (lažja pot) and an unnamed path which I assume is the harder path. We choose the easy path and make our way to the sawmill.

The path takes us past the Žaga Dolenc sawmill.

To Lubnik

We continue on to Lubnik.

We buy some drinks at the lodge on top of Lubnik.

On to Mali Lubnik

We take a slightly different path back down from Lubnik back to the 1000 meter sign, and then continue onto my favorite part of this hike: a narrow path on the ridge to Mali Lubnik.

Back to the parking

Immediately after Mali Lubnik we walk past an impressively steep drop on our left.
