A simple quick-release camera mount for the Helikon-Tex Numbat Chest Pack. It consists of a mounting bracket that attaches to the Numbat Chest Pack's PALS webbing, and a camera adapter plate that attaches to the camera using a standard tripod screw. The camera is kept in place with a release lever. Pushing the lever allows the camera, together with the adapter plate, to be taken out of the mounting bracket.
Instructions Glue 2 pieces of rubber band in the slots on the camera adapter plate to increase friction between the plate and camera, preventing the camera from rotating on the plate. Once the glue is dry, use a standard tripod screw to attach the camera plate to your camera. Slide the top of the mounting bracket all the way through the top PALS loop of your Numbat Chest Pack, then insert the bottom of the mounting bracket in the PALS loop below the Helikon-Tex logo and slide the mounting bracket all the way down.
Notes I've used this for over a year without issue, but I always have the camera strap looped through one of the chest pack straps just in case. Use at your own risk.
